"Wadajir" = "Together" in Somali.

Wadajir Riverside Band is a group Somali-American musicians and Augsburg University students and alumni from the Twin Cities. The band plays original works and arrangements of traditional qaraami Somali songs.

Qaraami, as described by Rahma Rose the group’s singer, is traditional or “older style” music. Qaraami songs always start with the text and use complex poetic forms, alliteration and word patterns full of layered meanings.
